Marilyn Monroe.
Marilyn Monroe's real name was Norma Jeane Baker.
Her birthday was on June 1st, 1926.
She was an American actress model and singer.
She soon became a sex symbol.
Marilyn was a Golden Globe winner.
Died from an overdose of barbiturates.
Ranked as the sixth greatest female star of all time in 1999.
Died at the age of 36 on August 5th, 1962.
Her religions were Judaism and Pentecostal.
She was married to James Dougherty, (1942-1946)
Joe DiMaggio, (1954-1954)
Arthur Miller, (1956-1961)
Her mother was mentally unstable and financially unable to take care of her so she was placed with foster parents Albert and Ida Bolender.
She stayed with them until she was seven.
Her mother then one day demanded that they bring her home.
She refused and Gladys pulled Ida out in the front lawn and ran into the house locking her self in.
When she repapered she had one of Albert’s military duffle bags which she had stuffed screaming Norma (Marilyn) in and zipped it closed.
Ida charged Gladys and got Norma (Marilyn) back into the house.
Gladys then bought a house in 1933 and brought Norma (Marilyn) with her.
A couple months later her mother went into a series of mental episodes and was forcibly removed to the state hospital in Norwalk.
Norma (Marilyn) was declared ward of state.
Gladys friend Grace McKee became her guardian.
Grace was the one who had told Norma (Marilyn) that one day she would be a movie star.
When Norma (Marilyn) was 9, Grace married Ervin Silliman “Doc” in 1935 and sent Norma to an L.A. orphans home.
Many people wanted to adopt Marilyn but Grace’s reluctance to sign over adoption papers stopped that from happening.
In 1937 Marilyn moved back to Grace and Doc’s home, joining Doc’s daughter from a previous marriage.
Due to Doc’s frequent attempt at sexually assaulting Norma (Marilyn) the arrangement didn’t last long.
Grace sent her to live with her aunt Olive Burnings.
That stay did not last long due to the assault *some same sexual* from Olive’s son.
In 1938 Grace sent her to live with a different aunt, Ana Lower.
She said the living with aunt Ana was the only time that she felt stable and happy.
Ana later grew older and developed health problems.
In 1942 Marilyn moved back to Grace and Doc’s house.
The family later moved to Virginia.
It was never specified why they did not take Norma with them but a neighborhood family offered to adopt her, but they were denied.
Grace approached Dougherty’s mother and suggested they get married so she would not have to return to foster care since she was two years below the legal age limit.
Marilyn Monroe Quote- “I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they’re right. You belive lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together.
Marilyn Monroe and I are both interested in makeup, hair and clothes.
